Five 9s Digital has been engaged to offer a uniquely positioned build-to-suit data center in Richmond, Virgina. Richmond is an emerging data center market very well positioned between Northern Virginia and the new international subsea fiber landings in Virginia Beach. The data center site is "pre-approved" and initial design plans have been completed for a phased data center project. The build-to-suit design can be adjusted to meet the needs of the future data center operator tenant.

Richmond and Henrico County has seen significant data center activity due to its excellent location, low cost of power, tax incentives and a robust fiber network with proximity to Richmond's strong metropolitan business community and the Northern Virigina data center market. Richmond has some seen additional interest from data center operators considering that the city's proximity is outside of the Washington DC and Northern Virginia blast zone offering an attractive alternative or secondary site solution to Northern Virgina.

New Richmond area data center announcements include a 710k SF expansion of the 1.3M QTS Data Centers complex and Facebook's announcement to grow its current 1M SF data center development up to 2.4M SF in the near future.
