Five 9s Digital Lands 30 MW Bitcoin Mining Data Center In NC
Five 9s Digital provided advisory services in the sale of a 30 MW data center to a national Bitcoin mining company located in Murphy, North Carolina. The facility totals 253,000 SF on 74 acres with expansion capacity to over 80 MWs of power provided by Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Duke Energy. Western North Carolina continues to attract data center and related mission critcal uses due to the low power cost, stable climate offering year round free cooling, and attractive North Carolina data center tax incentives.
The facility will operate as a BitCoin, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence facility and adds to the substantial list of mission critical operations in North Carolina including Apple, Google, Facebook, Bed Bath & Beyond, Disney, American Express, and Boeing among a host of others.
