Carter Validus REIT Sells 15 Data Centers For $1.06B
Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT I is in the process of selling 15 data centers in multiple markets for over $1 Billion. The transaction includes 14 data centers being sold to MapleTree, a Singapore based investment company and 1 data center in Chicago being sold to Digital Realty Trust. The 250,000 SF Chicago data center is being acquired for $315 Million after Carter Validus acquired the property for $211.7 Million in 2014. The MapleTree portion of the sale totals approximately $750 Million for the 14 data center assets.
Data centers included in the MapleTree sale include leased facilities located in Atlanta, Nashville, San Diego, Raleigh and Charlotte NC, Phoenix, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia among a number of other cities. The sale totals approximately 2.3 million square feet of data center space which average approximately 97% occupancy.
